Bozeman Swiss+

In search of something special, Sandmann Craft, through Yvan, became aware of a very rare Swiss Army fabric from the 1960s. He brought them together with Carol, who develops bags and accessories from old army fabrics, and they decided to purchase the unique fabric to develop the Swiss+ project.

The salt and pepper fabric was developed on a cotton base by the Swiss Army in the late 1930s. As cotton became scarce during the war years, nettle fibers were combined with cotton. This blend created a very robust, water-repellent, and durable fabric, the basic prerequisite for producing the world-famous Swiss military backpack.

In search of the perfect ambassador for this project, it quickly became clear that there could be no one better than Ruedi, who founded the SwissJeans Freak Blog years ago with great dedication and passion. After a phone call, everyone agreed and took the first pictures of the prototype at the Chipperfield Kunsthaus in Zurich and the Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein.
