The unusually tight weave provides excellent tear resistance and improved water repellency. Like durable denim, Tin Cloth conforms to the body's contours and stresses.

The hip-length cut facilitates access to pant pockets or a tool belt and prevents the jacket from riding up when seated. The torso is lined with lightweight cotton, and the sleeves slide effortlessly over other garments. Metal snap closures secure the front, cuffs, and hem adjustment tabs. The left chest pocket is equipped with a slot for small tools or a carpenter's pencil; the right one features a flap for extra security. The hand pockets are reinforced with bar tacks.
